Dr. Claudia Gómez Hooten M.D.

Dr. Hooten was born in Santiago, Chile and moved to Galveston, Texas at an early age. She graduated from Rice University and then received her medical degree from the University of Florida in Gainesville. She then went on to complete residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center, followed by a fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at Wake Forest University. She practiced in Hawaii and then Washington DC before joining Southwest Retina Consultants, PA in 2025.
