Dr. David C. Metrikin, M.D.

Dr. Metrikin was born in South Africa and obtained a medical degree at the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg. He and his family moved to the U.S.A. in 1987. After studying pathology at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York and completing an internship at the Cleveland Metropolitan Hospital he was a resident in Ophthalmology at the University of Arizona Health Sciences Center.

He completed a fellowship in vitreo-retinal diseases at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and joined Southwest Retina Consultants, P.A. in El Paso in 1995. Dr. Metrikin is the author of several journal articles and a book chapter on diseases of the retina.

Dr. Metrikin has been selected by his peers as one of the “Best Doctors in America” since 2005 and is a member of the “Global Directory of Who’s Who” since 2014.
